 Mr.
Vaughn joined Granite Development. as a partner in 1989. His immediate
responsibilities included site selection and financial feasibility evaluation.
Soon thereafter, Granite started its first shopping center and Vaughn
became included in all facets of the development process including lease
negotiation, design, financial planning, construction management and
property
management. As the market conditions and real estate cycles changed,
he provided a vision for diversity by developing apartments, restaurants,
industrial properties, day care facilities and retirement communities.
Vaughn helped form the foundation that has led to Granite's steady growth
and establishing itself as a highly respected real estate development
firm. Prior to joining Granite, Mr. Vaughn graduated from Guilford College in 1989. He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Business. Mr. Vaughn is a licensed Real Estate Broker. His business affiliations and professional appointments include a Member of the Mount Airy Chamber of Commerce; Mount Airy Youth Foundation; Mount Airy Jaycees; a graduate of Leadership Mount Airy; a member of The International Council of Shopping Centers (1989- Present); The North Carolina Real Estate Commission (1989 - present); Vice-President of Plantation Retirement Centers, Inc. (1992- Present); President of Riverside Building Supply, Inc. (1992- Present); and President of Learning Centers of Northwest North Carolina, Inc. (Sylvan Learning Centers). Mr. Vaughn is married to Carole Farlow Vaughn and has
a son, Tre and a daughter, Kendell. Mr. Vaughn and his family attend Central
United Methodist Church in Mount Airy, North Carolina. |
